PYV Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting will include a special presentation by Robina McCurdy. Robina will share her comprehensive strategy for enabling the goal of community scale food sovereignty for an entire bioregion. From the origins of ‘grassroots growing’ in neighbourhood backyards, street berms, schools’ grounds and a range of community gardens, Robina uses her plethora of original facilitation tools to develop local food economies and positive governance level policy changes.

Whakatauākī (proverb)
Naku te rourou, Nau to rourou ka ora ai te iwi
(With your food basket, and my food basket the people will thrive)

*This Māori proverb highlights the power of sharing resources, teamwork, and community collaboration to ensure everyone survives and prospers.

Robina will take us on an audio-visual journey through Aotearoa-NZ, to discover inspiring examples of communities quietly and powerfully moving towards food resilience. Much of this material was captured during her Localising Food Project documentary filmmaking and workshop tours, where she worked with communities in every Province/Shire across the country to create their own food sovereignty action plans.
Robina's presentation will be followed by the PYV AGM and Afternoon Tea.
